Even though it's months away- our trip to Bali is beckoning to me. I can't wait to experience the heat, and see the lush greens of a rice paddy again. We had Alam Jiwa recommended as a hotel in Ubud to stay in, and it looks like perfection from here.
Last night Al took me out to the Great American Music hall to go see Evelyn Evelyn- the hottest conjoined twins are out on tour! Also known as the musical genius of Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley, the show was a ton of fun.
Evelyn Evelyn were chaperoned by the wonderfully entertaining Sxip Shirey. He opened the show with some marvelous music of his own- combining hip hop, awesome beats, harmonica and a plethora of homemade instruments.
His performance of 'I Live in New York' was enough inspiration for us to get his new CD.
The whole show was a lot of fun- definitely worth trekking out on a Sunday night.
One of my favorite memories of traveling in Egypt was a stop on the into the desert. We drove into the Bahariya Oasis as the last stop. Surrounded by date palms, we went for a quick swim in some mineral springs.
It was a little strange being the only woman swimming, but I decided to not let it bother me and just enjoyed the water. I looked up above the pool and I saw a bright pink dragonfly- more spectacular than any dragonfly I've seen before or since.
